As of the end of 2025, colored wigs have become a standout growth segment in China’s cross-border export market, with a remarkable 67% year-on-year growth rate registered in Southeast Asia.

Within this booming regional market, fluorescent-colored wigs hold a dominant position in Thailand, accounting for 39% of the local market share. Meanwhile, Muslim female consumers in Malaysia, Indonesia and other countries show a strong preference for 360 Lace colored wigs featuring simulated scalp designs, which are highly favored for their natural look and comfortable fit.

Cross-border e-commerce platforms play a pivotal role in fueling this export surge, contributing 42% of the total sales revenue. Major platforms including AliExpress and Amazon serve as the primary channels for the distribution of these wig products to overseas buyers.

On the production side, industrial clusters in Shandong and Guangdong provinces are the backbone of China’s wig manufacturing sector, churning out 78% of the nation’s total wig output. In the high-end market segment, lightweight wigs made from Japan’s Kanekalon fiber materials command a 62% market share, thanks to their superior quality and durability. For budget-conscious consumers, domestic wig brands priced in the range of 200–500 yuan have secured a 76% share in the sinking market, demonstrating strong competitiveness with their cost-effective offerings.
